Information About Trust.

            Pravara Medical Trust (PMT), the parent organization of Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Deemed University was established in the year 1972, by the visionary, Padmashri Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil. The Spectrum of this movement is being carried ahead by Padmashri’s worthy son Shri. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil. Even since, the PMT has been rendering, quality services to the poor and the down trodden population, living in draught prone, backward area of this region.

             The vision of the PMT has been to improve the productivity of the rural people through increased quality of life by making health systems more effective & response to the needs of the people . It’s mission is to serve the rural people. It’s mission is to serve the rural people, especially the poor, downtrodden & weaker sections of the society, irrespective of their caste, creed, race and religion.

             It is , due to the continuing efforts of PMT, that turned Loni, a small  village hamlet into a vibrant township. It is driven by Think Globally & Act Locally ideology. Thus Loni stands testimony to the provision of quality health care to the rural people and testimony to the provision of excellent training in medical & paramedical fields.

Over a period of time, the PMT has built an excellent medical education center. The institutions under PMT have been doing the commendable job. The Pravara Rural Hospital, established in 1976 with only 100 beds, today , it has grown into an 800 bed multi disciplinary, superspeciality  hospital with ancillary facilities. To cater to the needs of peripheral population there are extension OPD’s and 7  Rural Health Centers. Tele-medicine facility is provided in 40 villages. The Pravara Rural Dental Hospital Provides , apart from routine dental care, the services in all modern dental specialities .

             PMT has established collaborations with several National and International organizations and the board areas of collaboration include, improvement of teaching, medical care & community health. Pravara Medical Trust’s  “Participative model of Integrated Rural Development”  was declared to be the role model by, non other than, the former President of India H.E. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. He named PMT initiative as “Loni Model of Integrated Development”  and called upon, the rest of the country, to emulate the same.
